The essence of a successful digital marketing campaign is not the volume of traffic but the quality of it.

  2. 7. Links from your email newsletters (if you have an email marketing strategy)
  3. 8. Viral email campaigns

  5. 10. Social Bookmarking and Networking web sites

The Right Message at the Right Time is The Key

When setting up your traffic generation campaigns you need to remember that individuals are often at different stages in their thinking. Some will be ready to buy and others just researching, comparing and pondering a decision.

The amount of time and ultimately money you spend on advertising and promotion depends on how broad you set your target - focus is of the essence at this stage.

In our example of hand made furniture we would simply not bother with the term 'furniture' and look for what is known as the 'long tail' keywords such as 'bespoke furniture', 'hand made furniture', 'furniture craftsmen' to generate, more relevant traffic .

By taking this much more targeted approach you can be assured that the visitors you attract are ready to listen to what you have to say and therefore your conversion ratio and profits will reflect this.
